Ready for some graphical abominations? Here we go:

Start Screen

This is the first screen when starting the game. It's only a background with 3 buttons. You can start a new game, load a saved one or exit the game at all.

There is some debug information in the top left corner. This information is shown on each screen in debug mode.

Load Screen

Clicking the 'Load' button in start screen leads to this screen. There is not much to explain, only a list of saved games and a 'Back' button in the right bottom corner are available. Clicking a saving loads it automatically.

Overview Screen

Clicking 'New' in the start screen creates a fresh game and switches to the overview screen. It shows the world map with all playable missions marked as red dots. The buttons aligned at the bottom of the screen lead to the shop and the inventory, cancel the game (back to start screen), save the current progress or let you start the selected mission on the map.

Flight Screen

Select a mission on the map and hit the 'GO!' button. You will enter the heart of this game, the flight screen. You fly up, avoid collisions with bullets and enemies and shoot your way through to the end boss of the mission. Nothing special to explain yet.

'Why don't you use better graphics for making such a showcase?' somebody may ask. There are three reasons:

  • That's just the way it looks like for now. Why show you something that's not true?
  • These graphics were made fast and serve their purpose. Grass (green tiles) and water (blue tiles) are enough for testing, add lava/forest/desert/ice/... later.
  • Make test graphics as ugly as possible. If they are odd but acceptable they may stay forever. The enemy sprite is already a little bit dangerous considered this way.

Cheers!
Thomas
