Just a little progress update to show you what's going on behind the scenes of Nordenfelt:

The turrets in the screenshot above are missing drop shadows. The shadows need to be not casted too far out. This reduces the probability of rendering them over other sprites on the floor:

That's it.

I'm currently working on different shot types. Coming up with steampunk shots is a little bit harder than with sci-fi shots. They need a more mechanical appearance like rockets or gun bullets. Size is important here because shots need good visibility to let the player dodge them. This may be the topic for my next post. Stay tuned!
